G.I Joe says that “knowing is half the battle”. We encourage Christians to get to know as much about the world and missions as possible. There are tons of resources out there to help you grow in your understanding of what is happening around the world and how God is drawing the nations to Himself. Watch the news, do some research, check out Netflix documentaries that have to do with different countries or refugees, etc. Join your local church’s missions committee, take a local missions course, go on a short-term mission trip, or go get some longer term missionary training.
We have provided the following resources for you. We hope that you will learn a lot, but that you will share it with others as well. We also pray that you will “DO” something about it as well. “Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up” and Scripture calls us to “not only be hearers of the Word, but doers”. If knowing is half the battle, actually doing something about it in God’s strength and power is the other half!
[+] If you haven’t gone through our short GFM 101 missions course, we highly recommend it. We also have a free module of our online missionary training school that we think is important for the entire body of Christ.
[+] There are some great online missions publications that come out regularly that can help keep you up-to-date as to what is going on in the missions world. Some of our favorites that most of our staff is signed up for are: Brigada, Mission Frontiers, and Missions Catalyst.
Sign up for the GFM “Unreached Update” or follow us on facebook to continue your journey learning about missions. We are always looking for blogs, information, statistics, videos, and teachings that will help our GFM tribe understand more about God’s word, God’s world, and God’s work. We also include up-to-date praise reports, testimonies, and prayer requests so that you can stay on top of our work among unreached people groups as well. Follow us and we will do everything we can to continue putting resources in your hands that will help you play your part in the Great Commission.
