Advancement Coordinator - Support Hub

The role is based out of Atlanta, GA.

The purpose of the Advancement Coordinator is to provide overall leadership and development strategy for the fundraising and stewardship activities in order to further GFM’s Mission. This ministry role is part-time and support-raising is encouraged, but payment is provided. The Advancement Coordinator has the ability to work on-site and from home on a regular basis. The role is based out of Atlanta, GA.


Required Qualifications

  • Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose, vision, values, and statement of faith and identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a non-profit team in raising funds
  • Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others
  • Must display advanced interpersonal and communication skills (Gmail, Slack, etc.)
  • Must function well both independently and in a team environment

Recommended Experience

  • A College Degree is preferred but not required; informal training in management, organization, leadership, and or ministry are also acceptable

Key Responsibilities

  • Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose, vision, values, and statement of faith and identify as a believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Develop and implement best development practices and processes to grow relationships that can be sustained by the GFM staff, board, and a development coordinator
  • Drive donor and fundraising strategy by coordinating with GFM Executive Director, staff, and board to identify new prospects with information. Coach staff and board as needed
  • Sustain and expand donor management and support
  • Keeping and ‘lifting’ existing ministry relationships, cultivating new ministry givers, building non-cash asset giving, and establishing foundation giving from Family and/or Christian foundations
  • Guide staff and board resource development and expansion
  • Coach the Executive Director on how to look for and find new board members, ways to coach members at Board meetings to give generously with their time, talent, and treasure
  • Connect financial and donor information with development opportunities
  • Provide scripts for development conversations
  • Assist in developing a 3-year and 10 strategic plan with SMART development goals
  • Must stay informed of the needs and opportunities within GFM
