To equip believers to make faithful disciples, start healthy & reproducing churches, and mobilize missionary teams to engage unreached communities and people groups locally and globally until there is #NoPlaceLeft.
Missionary residents will be equipped over the course of 10 months in 4 Fields strategy and will be asked to commit to a 6 hour weekly rhythm.
What does it look like?
2 hours will be given to a weekly house church where the residents will become confident and competent to engage those far from God, share the Gospel, disciple new believers and gather them together. The primary tools residents will be equipped with include the 411, 3/3rds, the Commands of Christ, and long term discipleship. Families are encouraged to participate in these meetings together.
2 hours will be given to a weekly time in the harvest. It is preferred that residents go 2×2 with one another prayer walking, searching for houses of peace (Luke 10), and/or intentionally engaging their Oikos. Families are encouraged to go out into the harvest together.
2 hours will given to additional leadership (Timothy) training, especially as the Lord brings fruit from their time in the harvest each week. The focus of this time is to supplement the practical components of the residency with biblical principles.
Residents are typically asked to sign a memorandum of understanding which clarifies their commitment to these weekly rhythms.
- We would love for people to come through the missionary residency with plans to take what they have learned back into their local church context and start new church based residencies to help more people become disciplemakers and develop pipelines to train missionaries that want to serve overseas.
- At the end of one year of residency, participants can choose to continue in a second year of residency where they would play a major leadership role, be sent out to start a new residency in a local church, or be sent out to join, or lead a team laboring to engage the unreached in a new city/country.
- Residents may also be asked to read additional resources, attend, and eventually train in event trainings, and go on trips that will expose them to established church planting movements (CPMs).
- During the course of the residency, participant’s character will be shaped, their competency in CPM strategy and tools will grow, the confirmation of their calling will be clarified, and they will learn to labor in the context of a loving community of practice.
