Here’s what people are saying about the GFM summer internships (SI):
“The summer internship was just a step to “get our feet wet” in missions and it actually pulled us in head first. We loved it and got our hearts broken so much for the nations that we stayed for the Missionary Training School. We heard God’s voice through it all and are now preparing to give our lives to seeing God’s name made famous in the 10/40 window! If you are looking to learn more about God, the nations, team building, and how you can be a huge part of all of that, then the summer internship is a great place to start.”
– Daniel & Kristen H. (now serving in the Muslim world)
“I spent a summer with GFM as an intern. That summer changed my perspective on the world and gave me a new purpose in life. Although I haven’t gone overseas long-term (yet), the concepts of church and ministry I learned that summer have truly impacted the way I live and interact with other believers and nonbelievers. This is a great organization, doing God’s work and reaching nations with the Gospel.”
– Laura V.
“Being a part of the Summer Internship really opened my eyes to the reality of unreached people groups and refugees, both in the States and overseas. At one point, I didn’t even understand exactly what a refugee was and I had NO idea that there were so many unreached people groups who have never heard the Gospel. The Summer Internship not only opened my eyes to these realities, but it gave me a sense of purpose as to why The Lord even redeemed me in the first place: To glorify Him by making His Name known! So now, I have such a burning desire to spread the Gospel to the unreached and to permanently work with and minister to refugees. I will NEVER forget my first summer in Clarkston.”
– Lussius A.
“The GFM summer internship serves as a ‘greenhouse effect’. The growth and the passion you receive in this small community as well as being given a driven zeal for the nations is something I could never have imagined before interning with this organization.”
– Caleb T.
“The GFM internship radically changed my faith from my little personal faith in Jesus Christ to a faith that shared that belief with people from all over the world. GFM provided godly structure and discipleship for interns from all over. Through GFM’s leadership, each intern was encouraged to use their gifts and fulfill their calling to preach the Gospel, love one another, and fall in love with Jesus deeper and deeper each day. I will always look back with thanksgiving at what God did in my life through this internship.”
– Emily S.
“My summer as in intern with GFM was hands down the most life-changing experience I’ve ever had! It was not the “I’m at church camp” high…but truly caused worldview and priority shift that has carried into my “real” life for years since.”
– Julianna B.
“God used the internship with GFM to transform my perspective of Him, the world, and myself. You will LOVE your summer with them! So many memories and stories that I will share with people for the rest of my life. I will never be the same.”
– Laraine L.
“The GFM internship put me into a new world that I never could have expected to experience outside of traveling to the 10/40 window. God used GFM’s staff and summer internship program to open my eyes to the desperate need for more laborers in the fields of global missions. I highly recommend this program if you are willing to put yourself in a place where you will be tested and forged for global missions.”
– Taylor F.
“The GFM internship gave me an opportunity to learn, grow, and use my gifts in a cross cultural setting showing me that I indeed have a part in fulfilling the Great Commission.”
– Rebekah P.
“The summer internship with GFM helped me to better understand my role in fulfilling the Great Commission and how to live missionally no matter where God places me.”
– Adreana R.
“We served as a married couple during our internship. It was a blast! I got to drive the van for the children to and from Summer Camp, while my wife spent her time at Camp teaching the kids with several other interns. Each and every day was different, but it was great to spend time with kids from Burma, Iraq, Nepali and various other countries! We also spent time teaching ESL to a family and helping with Community Development. I felt like this time is what brought those on the team closer together. We were also able to serve in the kitchen, do grocery shopping, and serve the other interns which was good for us as a newly married couple. Overall it was an incredible experience that was testing yet really encouraging and motivating.”
