Bookkeeper - Support Hub

The role is based out of Atlanta, GA.

The purpose of the Bookkeeper is to maximize GFM’s impact globally through sound business management, financial oversight, and human resource management. This ministry and business role is full-time, and support-raising is required. The Bookkeeper has the ability to work on site and from home on a regular basis. The role can be based out of Atlanta, Georgia.


Required Qualifications

  • Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose, vision, values, and statement of faith and identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Demonstrated ability to manage program budgets, monthly reporting, and summarize outcomes
  • Experience with accounting of finance software
  • Must be ready to experience significant missions training and discipleship through GFM’s Missionary Training School (in-person sessions or online)
  • Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others
  • Must display advanced interpersonal and communication skills (Gmail, Slack, etc.)
  • Must function well both independently and in a team environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and analyze all financial records and oversee accounting of all GFM bases
  • Oversee program spending, manage budget, and report revenue and program outcomes
  • Oversee GFM finances and review monthly reports for all GFM bases to make sure income and expenses are on track
  • Prepare quarterly reports to the Board of Directors
  • Track individual support to make sure that staff is not underfunded
  • Manage Payroll – File quarterly with the state and IRS, annual W2s and 1099s, benefits
  • Pick-up and process checks and donations weekly using Bank of America, EFT, and QB
  • Check and respond to emails/voicemails from staff, apprentices, students, donors, and backend accounting software contacts
  • Balance all GFM bank and credit card accounts in QuickBooks weekly
  • Create updated finance packet and FAQ for current and potential staff and students
  • Represent GFM well, maintain and build relationships with local and regional churches, ministries, and partnership agencies
